Our Story

Hoist Horizons Consultancy was born from a simple observation: too many Pakistani students were receiving cookie-cutter advice that didn't account for their unique situations, goals, and budgets.

Ali Hassan began his journey in study abroad consulting years ago, working independently to help students navigate the complex world of international education. What started as helping a few friends and family members quickly grew through word-of-mouth referrals. Each successful visa approval, each student's smooth transition abroad, and each grateful family reinforced Ali's commitment to providing honest, personalized guidance.

Unlike many consultancies that prioritize commission-heavy universities or push expensive options regardless of student suitability, Ali built his reputation on transparency and integrity. He would—and still does—recommend against studying in the USA if a student's priority is permanent residence and budget is limited. He guides students toward affordable Canadian colleges if they offer the same PR pathway as expensive universities. He tells students the truth about H-1B lottery odds rather than selling false dreams.

On January 5, 2026, Hoist Horizons Consultancy was officially established—not as a traditional consultancy with multiple counselors handling students in assembly-line fashion, but as a professional practice where Ali personally oversees every student's journey from initial consultation to post-arrival support. The name "Hoist Horizons" reflects our mission: to hoist (elevate/lift) students to new horizons—expanding their opportunities, broadening their perspectives, and launching them toward international success. Each student is an individual with unique dreams, and we're committed to helping them achieve those dreams in the way that best serves their interests, not ours.
